CoreLogic is the largest provider of property information, analytics and property-related risk management services in Australia and New Zealand. Over 20,000 customers and 150,000 end users in property, finance and government use CoreLogic’sservices and platforms more than 30,000 times a day.

The Opportunity

CoreLogic approached We Discover to help them lead the research and design phase to inform the rebuild of their flagship product ‘RP Data Professional’. This is their leading online property data tool, used by almost all real estate agents and property professionals throughout Australia.

We used a multi-faceted approach to conduct research with real estate agents, including:

  • One-on-one interviews
  • Surveys
  • Heat map analysis of the current site
  • Customer usage analytics
  • “Jobs To Be Done” a framework used to uncover areas of opportunities.

This corroborative approach identified and prioritised the core workflow features for design and development. This included insights into areas of opportunity to add value for real estate agents, outside the current feature set.

What We’ve Done

The research uncovered that customers were using the product differently to what the business had assumed. And we found there was a lack of awareness for some of the core features. Ultimately, this phase revealed key insights and validated assumptions about the customer to help inform the proposed solution. Our findings were presented to CoreLogic’s CEO and board in a formal showcase.

Following the research phase, we ran a number of ideation workshops with key stakeholders in the business to increase stakeholder engagement. The workshops resulted in a number of great ideas for solutions, and in turn, were designed into several concepts, which were tested with customers.

The Outcome

The elements that tested best and provided the most value for customers were consolidated into a single experience, with our team designing the UX, new UI, usability testing and continued iteration.

The new experience has since gone to BETA and is currently being rolled out. We Discover’s engagement with this project is ongoing, and its success has allowed us to also work across some of CoreLogic’s other products and services, including their mobile app.
